Learning Center Instructors

 

Summer Program

Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm, (11:15 to 12:15 lunch break)

Hourly pay rate: $14

 

Summer program begins June 2nd and runs through Aug. 8th.

May 26th to May 30th, Club staff train, plan and organize their space before the beginning of the program

 

Club closure dates: June 18th, July 4th,  & July 24th.

 

Instructors lead 6 hours of instruction time with a variety of elementary levels. 

Together with co-instructors & our education partner, Zuni Learning Tree, instructors will lay out a curriculum for our elementary club members. Our instructors plan the theme for our summer education program to combat summer learning loss on reading and math skills.

Groups rotate into education centers every hour and lessons will be 50 minutes long. 

At the beginning of the summer, instructors will do a pre-test to gauge reading and math levels, and at the end of the summer, instructors will do a post-test to measure the outcomes of our program's success. 

Gym & Game Room YDPs

Youth Development Professionals (YDP) are responsible for creating a safe, fun and engaging environment centered around the games room, gym and outside play areas. YDP’s will implement grade-level appropriate p.e. style games, teach card and board games, play billards, ping pong and fooseball as well as supervise field trips.

Successful YDPs must be self-motivated, out-going, and have leadership qualities.

Other duties include but are not limited to, cleaning, supervising lunch service, driving Club vehicles, and managing equipment.

Site Manager


Part-Time: Monday to Friday.

  • Afternoon and evening availability during school year.
  • Morning and afternoon availability during the summer.
  • Pay ranges from $19 to $21 an hours based on experience.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the planning, organizing, and encouragement of participation in the overall program & services within the Boys & Girls Club of Faulkner County.
  2. Oversee & manage the Club during program hours in the absence of the Site Director.
  3. Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members and staff providing guidance and acting as a role model to members and staff, and ensuring Club policies and procedures are always enforced.
  4. Support club staff in facilitation and implementation of programming related to academic excellence, healthy lifestyles, and good character/citizenship.
  5. Participate in and assist with training.
  6. Assist the Director and maintenance staff in building cleaning/sanitizing and minor maintenance projects as needed. Must be able to twist, bend, squat and lift a reasonable weight.
  7. Cultivate and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, nurturing, educational and safe club experience for participating youth.

 

Qualifications:

  • A.A. degree or some credits earned from an accredited college or university or equivalent youth development experience.
  • Ability to use a PC computer, including the ability to accurately enter data and use Microsoft Office.
  • Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or within 90 days of employment).
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must be able to be actively engaged with youth for several hours a day – including being mobile within the classrooms, play area, transitioning youth from one room or location to another by transport, and in other Club house settings
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
  • Availability as stated above.
